Vernon Lee Rupp went home to be with Jesus, November 12, 2013, after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. He was born August 3, 1956 at Wauseon, a son of Leon and Clara (Pletcher) Rupp. He married Elaine Chaffee in 1978. He had a love of biking and would bike snow, rain, or shine to work and also take long rides with his friend, Larry on Sundays. His passion was for his family, God, and gardening. He worked over 20 years at Wauseon Woodworking and the last 8 years at Ace Hardware. He was a handyman and was asked for by name at work by people who came in with problems. He could fix or build just about anything, and built Elaine's beautiful cabinets and a major addition to the house. He was an active member of Wauseon Community Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elaine and daughters Amy Rupp and Christy (Brent) Householder. As well as his four sisters, Roselyn (Duane) Short, Barbara (Robert) Alexander, Carolyn Duncan, and Charlene (Lamar) Miller, as well as many nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at North Clinton Mennonite Church with Pastor Timothy Moebs officiating. Friends may call at North Clinton Mennonite Church from 2-8 PM on Thursday.
