Valeria B. Hornish, age 102 years, of Archbold, passed away late Monday, February 1, 2016, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. She was born May 1, 1913, the second of four children to Willard and Pearl (Weis) Peters. She graduated from Jewel Schools in 1931. She married Donald J Hornish on January 1, 1933, and he preceded her in death on September 8, 1995. An Archbold resident most of her lifetime, she wintered at Sun-N-Fun at Sarasota, FL several years. She enjoyed music, traveling, gardening and playing games with family and friends. She was a long-time active member of St. John's Christian Church in Archbold. She dearly loved her family, friends and her Lord Jesus.

She is survived by two sons, Donald D (Nancy) Hornish of Brooksville, FL and Rex E (Karen) Hornish of Kalamazoo, MI; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia (Les) Steinke of Scottsdale, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Duane Peters; and one sister, Loreen Ross.

Services will be held on Sat, Feb 6 at 2:30 PM at Fairlawn Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Pastor Erich Christman (St. John's Christian Church) and Pastor Dennis Bauer (grandson-in-law) will officiate. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family suggests that memorials be given to St. John's Christian Church.
