Ursula L. Goertz, age 84 years, of Archbold, passed away Sunday evening, August 30, 2015 at Fulton Manor Nursing & Rehab Center in Wauseon. She was born May 30, 1931, in Germany, the daughter of Hans and Marie Strowig. She married Frederick "Fritz" Goertz on September 29, 1951 and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2004. She came to the United States in 1955, and moved to the Archbold area in 1956. She was a home maker, and worked at Young Spring and Wire. She attended the Living Word Church and enjoyed Bible Study. She is survived by three children, Ilse-Marie Goertz of Bryan, Juergen (Cheri) Goertz of Napoleon, and Mark (Lori) Goertz of Goshen, IN; six grandchildren, Jeremy Goertz, Christopher (Melissa) Goertz, Kacey (Jason) Hoffman, Gabe Goertz, Samuel Goertz and Olivia Goertz; 4 great-grandchildren; one brother, Hans (Alma) Strowig of Germany; and a sister, Heide (Dieter) Weisbach of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. Memorial services will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at Short Funeral Home in Archbold from 4-8 PM on Thursday. The family suggests that memorials be given to Gentiva Hospice.
