Sandra F.
Sauder
Dec 15, 1941 — May 18, 2017
Sandra F. Sauder, age 75, of Archbold, passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2017. She was born on December 15, 1941 at Wauseon, to Walter and Lodema (Nofzinger) Maust. She married Chuck Sauder on October 15, 1960, and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2000.
After graduating from Archbold High School, Sandy attended Toledo Hospital Licensed Practical School of Nursing. Upon graduation, she began a lifelong career in Nursing, with the most recent being 30 plus years at the Archbold Medical Group where she retired. However, after retiring, she continued to use her nursing skills to care for families in the area.
Sandy accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age, and throughout her life, was an active member of the Central Mennonite Church where she was always ready to serve. Sandy had a caring, giving heart. She was always sharing encouragement, birthday, or congratulation withes through a card, or food, regardless of how well she knew someone. She was a collector of antiques, and was always hunting for that perfect garage sale treasure. She enjoyed cooking, and sharing her gift of hospitality with others. Above all, her pride and joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, who knew her as "Grandma Sandy".
She is survived by 2 children, Mike (Pam) Sauder of Archbold, and Michelle (Dallas) Rupp of Stryker; 6 grandchildren, Justin (Bethany) Sauder of Toledo, Melinda (Isaac) McClarren of Wauseon, Darin Sauder and fiancé Rachel Brader of Archbold, and Garrett, Emily and Audra Rupp all of Stryker. She also enjoyed spending time with her first great-grandchild, Taya Sue McClarren. Other survivors include her mother, Lodema Maust of Archbold; and a sister, Donna Windisch of Wauseon; and nieces and nephews.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, husband, 2 infant sons, and a brother-in-law, Jerry Windisch.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Central Mennonite Church, Archbold, from 2-8 PM, with a memorial service on Wednesday at 11 AM. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be given to Christmas Cheer or the Donor's choice.
