Ruth Winifred Perry Jones (Mrs. Richard C.) was born June 30, 1916, at Granville, Lickin County, Ohio, a daughter of Era Z. and Bessie (Richardson) Perry, and passed away Sunday morning, December 20, 2015, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold at the age of 99 years. She was educated in Granville, Ohio Public Schools, and graduated in 1938 from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. She married Capt. Richard C. Jones on August 25, 1945. Prior to marriage she taught upper elementary grades in Granville, OH Public School and Cuyahoga Heights School, East Cleveland, OH.

Ruth did volunteer work with the mentally and physically handicapped persons beginning in Illinois in 1949 and continued until 1971 in Michigan. From 1974 – 1985 was a volunteer at the Fulton County Training Center in Wauseon. For fourteen years she was a Jr. High Sunday School teacher at the Archbold United Methodist Church and was a life long member of the United Methodist Churches.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1982.

She is survived by her son, Richard E. (Gloria) Jones of Rock, Michigan; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Kay Baldwin of Hilton Head Island; eight nieces and nephews; and "her other special family" – the Hallett's.
