Roger A. Johnson Sr., 79, of Archbold, passed away July 11, 2017, at Genacross Lutheran Home in Napoleon, Ohio.

He was born July 8, 1938 to Rolland and Vivian (Schaffner) Johnson.  On May 23, 1956 he married Suzanne Miller, they celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Roger was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, corner of 6 & 66, where he served as trustee.

He worked for Miller Bros. Construction for 44 years, supervising the drainage crew.  He worked in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky.  He also worked for Behrmann Vault.

He is survived by his wife, sons, Roger Jr. (Marilyn), Mark (Lori) both of Archbold and Jeff (Carrie) Johnson of West Chester, and a daughter, Linda (Steve) Everhart of Archbold.  He has 9 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Anne Mull, sister Jeanne Schroeder and brothers, James and Daryl Johnson.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church from 3-8 PM.  Funeral will be held Friday, July 14, 2017, at 11 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with burial at St. James Cemetery on Route 2 East of Archbold.  Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, Filling Home of Mercy, Napoleon or donor's choice.
