Obituary

Richard R. Vereecke, Jr. 77 of Wauseon, Ohio passed suddenly in his home early Sunday morning, June 26, 2016. He was born June 18, 1939 to Richard Sr and Yvonne Vereecke of Morenci, Michigan.

On June 8, 1974 he married Pauline Seiler and she survives.

Richard spent the majority of his working career as a foreman at Fulton Tubing in Archbold, Ohio and then foreman for Wauseon Manufacturing in Wauseon, Ohio until the factory closed doors.  Richard was a member of the Fayette Nazarene Church. Richards enjoyment in life was when Pauline and him purchased a fishing boat. They named it Beats Working! They spent countless weekend trips on Lake Erie, thus having to purchase more freezers to hold all the fish. It was nothing for them to bring home 500 fish a day. He also enjoyed gardening, to the point he made it so big he could feed the Ottokee population. He always joked telling everyone he was the Mayor of Ottokee.  He was also an avid bowler. He always made comment of his dream was to bowl on TV.

Surviving are his loving wife Pauline of 42 years, daughter Sherry (Tim) Wagler of Archbold, Sandy (Gary) Rice of Fayette, Richard (Joyce) Seiler of Archbold, Todd (Lisa) Seiler of Montpelier, Richard III (Rhonda) of Wauseon, and Tracy (David) Knisely of Fayette. A sister Lorraine (Marion) Mannschreck of Morenci, Michigan and a twin brother George (Diana) Vereecke of Morenci, Michigan. Twelve grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Richard was also preceded in death by a son Stacy Vereecke of Archbold, Ohio.

Visitation for Richard will be Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Fayette Nazarene Church and as follows: 12 pm for immediate family, 12:30 to 2:30 family and friends. Following visitation he will be laid to rest at Morenci Oak Grove Cemetary.  The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm at the Fayette Nazarene Church with Rev. Winston Hatcliff officiating. Luncheon following after the service in the fellowship hall.
