Richard A. Saam, age 85 years, of Archbold, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 25, 2016, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.  He was born February 24, 1931 at Toledo, the son of Bazil and Mary Saam, and married Bonita Klingaman on September 15, 1951.  A resident of the Maumee area many years before moving to Archbold in 2015, he worked and retired from LOF Glass in Rossford.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He enjoyed flea marketing and liked the Detroit Tigers.  He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita who resides at Fairlawn Haven; two sons, Ricky A. (Debbie) Saam of Bowling Green, and David (Debra) Saam of Archbold; 2 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Shirley Saam and Catherine.

There will be no visitation and the services will be private with interment  in St. James Lutheran Cemetery near Archbold.
