Ratanasriboonreuang
Feb 6, 1956 — Feb 14, 2025
Pang Ratanasriboonreuang, a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and a friend to many passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025. Born February 6, 1956, in Pak Lai, Xaiyaborli, Laos, he immigrated to the United States as a refugee, leaving behind his homeland in search of a better future. Through resilience and unwavering determination, he built a life for himself and his family, embodying the values of hard work, generosity, and perseverance.
Pang was known for his ability to bring joy to those around him. His humor, warmth, and welcoming nature made every interaction special, ensuring that anyone in his presence felt lighter, happier, and at ease. Whether through a well-timed joke, a heartfelt story, or a simple gesture of kindness, he had a unique way of lifting the spirits of those he encountered.
A man of many passions, Pang found solace in the great outdoors. He loved fishing, hiking, and spending time at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's, where he could talk for hours about the best gear or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Nature was not only his escape but also his greatest source of peace. Whether casting a line into the water, trekking through the woods, or sitting outside surrounded by family, he found joy in life's simplest moments.
Family and community were at the heart of Pang's life. He deeply valued tradition and took great pride in preserving cultural customs. He enjoyed making "laab", a Laotian dish, with the other lao elders, ensuring every ingredient was carefully prepared, turning cooking into a moment of connection. His generosity extended beyond his home. Whether grilling outdoors, sharing a meal, or reminiscing over old stories, he found his greatest happiness in the company of loved ones.
As a father, Pang was a provider, a teacher, and a guide. He ensured that his children and their friends arrived at school safely each morning, using those moments to impart wisdom about life, respect, and perseverance. He instilled in his family the importance of hard work and integrity, always reminding them to honor their roots and carry forward the traditions of their Laotian ancestors. His words of wisdom, encouragement, and love will remain a lasting influence on those he leaves behind.
Pang is survived by his children Nangsaipin "Touk" (Maum) Bounaving, Songkhan "Robert" (Ashley) Phounarath, Jenny "Kelly" (Frank) Covarrubias, Maxie Ratanasri, Yong Rata, and his grand-children Soukson, Seangphet, Amphone Bounavong, Angel, Anylah, Eliazar "Chucho" Covarrubias, TaHan and SahNam Phounarath and many nieces and nephews.
