N. Darlene Beck, age 95 years, of Archbold, passed away Monday afternoon, January 6, 2014, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. She was born September 26, 1918, in Toledo, the daughter of Marcus and Georgia (Young) Beach. She married Robert Borton in 1940 and he preceded her in death. She then married Delmar D. Beck on January 8, 1983, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2010. A resident of the Archbold area 31 years, she was a secretary at Aro Corp. in Bryan. She with her husband Delmar spent winters in Winter Haven, FL. She enjoyed cross stitching, bridge club, and playing card games with friends. She was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Church. She is survived by three step-children, Curt (Leta) Beck of Archbold, Keith (Pat) Beck of Columbus, and Andrea Schaffer of Blair, NE; 7 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom (Mary) Beach of Parish, FL; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Beach, and Beulah Beach both of Winter Haven, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; step-daughter-in-law, Elaine Beck; and two brothers, Bill Beach and Bob Beach. Friends may call at Fairlawn Chapel from 2-3:30 PM on Sunday with a memorial service at 3:30 at the Fairlawn Chapel with Chaplain Charles Gautsche officiating. Private interment will be held in Floral Grove Cemetery near West Unity at a later date. The family suggests that memorials be given to Defiance Area Youth for Christ.
