Obituary

Meredith Irene Beck was born September 22, 1917 in the family home west of Pettisville, Ohio to Lewis and Bertha (Wyse) Britsch.  She had an older and younger brother, Olen and Dale Britsch.  A 1935 graduate of Pettisville High School and life-long resident of the Pettisville/Archbold community, Meredith entered her heavenly home on August 8, 2016.

On March 11, 1937 Meredith married Dale E. Beck from Cedarville/Leo, Indiana, whom she had met at a church youth gathering.  They were blessed with 5 children and happily married for nearly 60 years until Dale passed away.  Together they raised their family, working side by side on the family farm.  She volunteered at the hospital in Wauseon for 49 years and spent many years volunteering for various other community organizations including Fairlawn Haven, Care & Share, and as a quilter at Sauder Village.

Meredith and her family were supporters of the Pettisville/Archbold community.  She regularly attended musical concerts, sporting events, and school functions throughout the years, not just for her children, but for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well.  She was blessed with good health, both physically and mentally.  Until the last days of her life, she was able to remain quite active attending community events, participating in family activities, and doing many of the things she enjoyed doing, which included serving and ministering to others.

At the age of 15 she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized.  Following in the footsteps of her parents and grandparents, she faithfully attended Central Mennonite Church in Archbold, OH and participated in nearly every function at the church that she could.  She was always helping out behind the scenes for all of the musical things her husband was involved with and served her church family in various roles throughout her life.  Her greatest desire was for all of her descendants to be faithful disciples of Jesus.

Meredith is survived by her children Marlene (Merle) Beck and Wendell (Bonnie) Beck both of Archbold, OH, Conrad (Peggy) Beck of Temperance, MI, and her daughter-in-laws Neva Beck and Carol Beck both of Archbold, OH.  Her grandchildren are Tom (Jamie) Beck, Ann (Rich) King, Linda (Rod) Klopfenstein, Lori (Jeff) Coressel, Randy (Joy) Beck, Sheila (Arlan) Yoder, Rebecca (Ben) Kohler, Doug (Lori) Beck, Deb (Mike) Zimmerman, Kathy (Pat) Sauder, Laura Beck (Roland Oosterhouse), Andrea (Jason) Hall, Erin (Josh) Stiemsma, and a foster grandchild Rudy Saldivar.  Her survivors include 48 great-grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, husband, sons Garold and Ronald, 2 grandchildren Ricky and Lisa, and a great grandchild Nicholas Saldivar.

Meredith will be missed not only by her family, but by her many friends and acquaintances as well.  Those who knew her have many great lasting memories.  We can look forward to the day when we will be united with her again in the heavenly home God has prepared for us.

Memorial services will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the Central Mennonite Church in Archbold with Pastors David Elkins and Regina Wenger officiating.  Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery.  Friends may call at Fairlawn Chapel in Archbold from 2-8 PM on Thursday.
