Mary Furko, age 97 years, of Archbold, passed away Wednesday evening, January 18, 2017, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.  She was born August 21, 1919, at Youngstown, PA, the daughter of John and Anna Siplive.  She married Joseph Furko Sr. on September 12, 1940 and he preceded her in death on February 24, 2009.  A resident of the Archbold area over 40 years, she was a homemaker.  She enjoyed attending church and spending time with family.  She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Archbold.

She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Buehrer of Archbold; five grandchildren, Kim (Barkley) Loughran, Joseph (Brynne) Furko III, Sid (Michele) Buehrer, Andy (Billie) Buehrer, and Kelly (Dennis) Landwehr; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irene Appel of VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Joseph Furko Jr. and Alfred Furko; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Loughran.

Services and burial will be in Springdale, PA.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to Coach Furko Scholarship Fund for Archbold High School.
