Marthella M. Frey, age 85 years, of Archbold, passed away Monday night, May 25, 2015, at Fairlawn Care Center in Archbold. She was born May 29, 1929, near Elmira, the daughter of Maurice and Rosella (Leininger) Short, and married Stanley "Pat" Frey on December 25, 1947. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was an Archbold High School graduate, a homemaker, and a caterer. She loved to cook and bake and enjoyed quilting. She was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Church where she was a very active member. She is survived by her husband, Stanley "Pat", three children, Nancy (James) Kean of Noblesville, IN, Deborah (James) Roach of Defiance, and David (Cheryl) Frey of Auburn, IN; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Eugene Short. Memorial services will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the Archbold Evangelical Church with Pastor Jesse Kahler officiating. Interment will be in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at Archbold Evangelical Church from 4-8 PM on Thursday. The family suggests that memorials be given to Mennonite Central Committee or Miracle Camp.
