Maria A. Morales, age 68 years, of Wauseon, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 15, 2018, at the University of Toledo Medical College Hospital.  She was born July 15, 1949, in Puerto Rico, the daughter of Pedro and Juana (Cortez) Velez.  She married William G. Morales in September of 1967, and he preceded her in death on June 7, 2008.  A resident of the Archbold area from 2005-2016 before moving to Wauseon in 2016, she was a homemaker and worked at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold.  She enjoyed cooking, Spanish Music, sewing and collecting birds.  She was a member of Templo El Farro Church in Archbold.

She is survived by three children, Maria A. Monserrat of Brooklyn, NY, William J. Morales of Wauseon, and Rosemarie Santiago of Toledo; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Victor Velez of FL, Jesus "Manny" Velez of Bryan; and George Louis Velez of Queens, NY; and two sisters, Maria C. Pena of Brooklyn, NY and Maria M. Franqui of FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 granddaughter; two brothers, Pedro J. Velez Jr. and Angel L. Ortiz; and one sister, Lucy Velez.
