Mae A. Miller, age 97 years, of Archbold, passed away Wednesday evening, October 9, 2013, at Fulton Manor in Wauseon. She was born January 4, 1916 near Pettisville, the daughter of John and Margaret (Rice) Fankhauser. She married Roman Miller on January 8, 1940 and he preceded her in death on November 8, 2006. She lived in Sarasota and Ocala, FL for 15 years before returning to the Archbold area in 1955. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening, her flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Victory Barn Church near Edgerton. She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Gericke and Rosene (Drew) Short Moseley, both of Archbold, and Julie Simcox of Perrysburg; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Roger Miller; two sons-in-law, Eric Simcox and Russ Gericke; one grandson; two great-grandsons; two brothers, Marion and Frederick Fankhauser; and two sisters, Della Manley and Ruth Bundy. Services will be held on Monday at 1 PM at Short Funeral Home in Archbold with Pastor Drew Moseley officiating. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home from 11:30 AM - 1 PM on Monday. The family suggests that memorials be given to The Gideons International.
