Leopoldo T.
Suarez Johnson Jr.
Dec 26, 1956 — Feb 8, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Leopoldo T. Suarez Johnson Jr. known to many simply as "Leo". He was born December 26, 1956 in San Antonio, Texas and left us on 8th of February 2026 at the Autumn Court Care Center in Ottawa, OH, with his family by his side, leaving a void that can never be filled with Leo's departure we remember a life lived with immense love, and a constant sense of caring.
Leo was predeceased by his parents, Leopoldo and Leonor Suarez; his brother, Frank Bosquez; his grandson, Ethan Mumford; his nieces, Rachel Allomong and Irene Delgado; and his nephews, Collin Allomong, Juanito and Daxton Bueno.
He is survived by his spouse, Scott Johnson, who was Leo's best friend of 23 years and were married on July 14, 2024; his daughters, Elizabeth Shannon and Hope Suarez; sons, Leo Jr. and Joe Suarez; siblings, Gilbert, Martin and Justo Suarez, Carlota Perez, Maria Bueno, Stella Suarez, Connie Ramirez, Rita Trejo, Lupe Paiz, Janie Castro, and Elenor Aguilar; grandsons, Malik and Tyrese Goins, Brantlee Willoughby, Mateo Black, Martin and Mitchell Shannon; granddaughters, Justice Vasquez, Jasmine and Jadelin Shannon; 11 great-grandchildren; and 46 nieces and nephews.
Leo had a palate for simple and comforting food and drink with Lay's plain potato chips, diet sodas and his Pepperidge Farm Coconut Cake. His taste in music was a reflection of his vibrant personality with Adele, Whitney Houston, Bryan Adams, Beyonce, Los Lonely Boys, Ricky Martin and Luke Bryan providing the sound track of his life.
He held a very deep connection with his grandchildren, teaching them how to cook his favorite dishes, drawing with chalk, singing karaoke and dancing with them.
Leo's presence will be missed especially his warm hugs, laughter and those caring calls. We let go of a very remarkable man, a very kind, happy, loving soul. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the love, joy, and kindness that were the essence of Leo's being.
