Obituary

Lawrence Grime Jr., age 85 years, of Archbold, passed away early Friday morning, January 20, 2017, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice.  He was born August 20, 1931, at Archbold, the son of Lawrence and Wilma (Schlatter) Grime Sr. and married Arlene Lohse on September 12, 1959.  A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, he farmed and worked at Yoder & Frey.  He enjoyed watching high school basketball and making homemade candy.  He was a member of St. John's Christian Church in Archbold.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene; four children, Judy Grime, Dale (Ann) Grime, James Grime, all of Archbold, and Mark (Karen) Grime of Hamilton, IN; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Isabelle Boucher of Bryan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arden Grime; and a sister Joan Yetter.

Memorial services will be held on Friday at 11 AM at St. John's Christian Church with Pastors Erich Christman and Alex Young officiating.  Interment will precede at 10 AM in the Archbold Cemetery.  Friends may call at St. John's Church from 3-7 PM on Thursday.  Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.  The family suggests that memorials be given to St. John's Christian Church or CHP Hospice of Defiance.
