Larry J. Grime, age 66 years, of West Unity, passed away Thursday morning, April 3, 2014, in his home surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 26, 1947, at Wauseon, the son of Leo and Hulda (Frank) Grime, and married Carol Ann Schnitkey on July 20, 1968. A 1965 graduate of Archbold High School, he farmed, worked at Miller Brothers Construction, then retired from Heer Excavating, and since was a truck driver for S&W Mills. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards with his family, and following NASCAR racing. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Burlington. He is survived by his wife Carol Ann; four children, Amy (Terry) Miller, Lonny (Julie) Grime, Laurie (Josh) Carmody, and April (Brendan) Toone all of Archbold; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leslie Grime and David (Carma) Grime both of Archbold; and one sister, Nancy (Junior) Nafziger of Archbold. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held on Sunday at 2:30 PM at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor James Strawn officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Lutheran Cemetery near Archbold. Friends may call at Short Funeral Home in Archbold from 2-8 PM on Saturday. The family suggests that memorials be given to James Center at OSU or American Cancer Society.
