Kathryn Marie Briskey, age 87 years 11 months, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday evening, July 1. She was born to Wm L. and Mattie (Grieser) Nofziger on July 31, 1927. On November 28, 1946, Kathryn married Wilmer Briskey, with whom she enjoyed life for almost 40 years of marriage until his death on November 9, 1986. As a teen, Kathryn committed her life to Jesus Christ and became a lifelong member of Central Mennonite Church, Archbold. Besides working in the home and on the farm, Kathryn was also employed by Sheridan Mfg. Co. of Wauseon from 1967 until retirement. Surviving Kathryn are her son, Loyal Briskey, Wauseon; daughters Barbara (Leland) Hoylman, Wauseon, Dianne (Robert) Wengerd, Boardman, OH, and Jo (Ross) Nofziger, Archbold; Greek son George (Cheryl) Karagiorge, Perrysburg; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and sister Lorraine Brandenberger of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Wilmer, grandson Gideon Nofziger and Brother LD Nofziger. Calling hours are Sunday, July 5, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Short's Funeral Home, Archbold. Burial will be at Pettisville Cemetery on Monday, July 6, at 9:30 a.m. officiated by Pastor Robert Wengerd followed by an 11:00 a.m. "Celebration of Life" (memorial) service at Central Mennonite Church officiated by Pastor David Elkins and Brother Luke Nagy. In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to Defiance area Youth for Christ or Fulton County Hospice.
