Jose J. Hernandez Sr., age 62 years, of Bryan, passed away Sunday morning, March 26, 2017, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice.  He was born November 24, 1954, at Plainview, Texas, the son of Isidro and Dolores (Garza) Hernandez.  He married Rosa Molina and she preceded him in death in 1992.  A resident of Archbold many years and Bryan the past 3 years, he was a welder.  He served in the U.S. Army and the reserves.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching western movies and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two children; Jose Hernandez Jr. and Jessica Flores, both of Archbold; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a son Joseph.

Friends may call at Templo Cristiano Assembly of God in Archbold from 12-2 PM on Tuesday, with the services following at 2 PM with Pastor David Tijerina officiating.
