Evelyn M. Rychener, age 75 years, of Wauseon, passed away Thursday evening, November 19, 2015, at the Toledo Hospital. She was born December 1, 1939 at Wauseon, the daughter of Orval and Cora (Short) Kauffman, and married Larry Rychener on December 1, 1957. A lifelong resident of the Wauseon area, she was a homemaker, and a secretary at Pettisville Schools 22 years before retiring in 2006. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and babysitting the grandchildren, and was very involved in sharing meals wherever there was a need. She was an active member of the Zion Mennonite Church in Archbold, where she sang in the Choir, served as a Pastoral Care Giver, a Sunday School teacher many years, and an MYF sponsor.

She is survived by her husband Larry; four children, Jeffrey Rychener of Wauseon, Kimberly (Walter) Turczyn of Pittsburg, PA, Jon (Meredith) Rychener of Chapin, SC, and Jason (Michelle) Rychener of Archbold; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn (Mabel Ann) Kauffman of Wauseon, and Donald (Janet) Kauffman of Bayview, TX; and one sister, Mary (Ron) Short of Wauseon.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 4 PM at the Zion Mennonite Church. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at Zion Mennonite Church from 3-8 PM on Tuesday. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
