Edward D. Baus, age 98 years, of Archbold, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 23, 2015, at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon. He was born April 2, 1917, at Wauseon, the son of Peter and Katherine (Erbes) Baus. A graduate of Archbold High School, he served in Civilian Public Service during W.W. II at Medaryville, IN and Terry, MT. He married Leanna M. Nofzinger on March 4, 1939 and she preceded him in death on August 20, 1994. A resident of Archbold most of his lifetime, he was the co-owner and co-operator of Nofzinger Motor Sales in Archbold from 1953 thru 1985. He since worked in various capacities at Car 1 in Archbold as recent as Tuesday. He enjoyed traveling and fishing, and was a member of Central Mennonite Church near Archbold. He is survived by two sons, Gene (Marva) Baus and Larry (Eileen) Baus, both of Archbold; four grandchildren, Erika (Greg) Liestman, Jeanna (Sam) Reschly, Chad (Beth) Baus and Aaron (Marissa) Baus; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters in infancy. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Central Mennonite Church with Pastor David Elkins, Bill Holsopple, and Dale Wyse officiating. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at Central Mennonite Church from 3-8 PM on Monday. The family suggests that memorials be given to the donor's favorite charity.
