Douglas P. Weirauch, age 53 years, of Pettisville, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 23, 2017, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice.  He was born October 17, 1963, at Napoleon, the son of Paul and Lois (Myers) Weirauch.  A 1982 graduate of Archbold High School, he married Jackie Avina on October 3, 1987.  A lifelong resident of the Archbold/Pettisville area, he worked at Sauder Woodworking Co. in Archbold the past 34 years.  He loved fishing, hunting, trips to Canada and was a Detroit sports fan especially the hopeless Detroit Lions and Tigers.  He was a 4-H advisor, flag football coach and referee and an avid summer softball player for many years.  He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Burlington and Sons of the American Legion B.L.W. Post 311.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie; two children, Dylan Weirauch and Kelsey (Justin) Pursel both of rural Pettisville; his mother, Lois Weirauch of Wauseon; and a sister, Wendy (Fabian) Torres of Wauseon.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; a brother, Mark; and his grandparents.

Friends may call at St. James Lutheran Church in Burlington from 1-8 PM on Thursday.  A private family service will be held with Rev. James Strawn officiating.
