Donald L. Vasvery, age 73 years, of Wauseon, passed away early Thursday morning, July 13, 2017, at the University of Toledo Medical Center.  He was born December 24, 1943, at Toledo, the son of Steve and Cleal (Kinder) Vasvery, and married Linda Grieser on November 13, 1965.  A resident of the Wauseon area 51 years, he was an owner operator truck driver and later started D&J Trucking.  He served in the U.S. Navy.  He enjoyed traveling and swimming with his grandchildren.  He was a member of Central Mennonite Church near Archbold.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; three children, Robbin DeGennaro of Delta, Renee (Kirk) Moore of North Canton and Jeffrey (Trudy) Vasvery of Wauseon; 7 grandchildren; two sisters, Deanna Landis of Toledo and Juanita (Bud) Hutchison of Wauseon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Steve Jr. and Pete Vasvery.

Memorial services will be held on Monday at 11 AM at Central Mennonite Church with Regina Wenger and Ed Allen officiating.  Interment will precede at 9:30 AM in the Pettisville Cemetery.  Friends may call at Central Mennonite Church from 2:30-8 PM on Sunday.  Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.  The family suggests that memorials be given to Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center on the UTMC Campus or family choice.
