Daniel Alaniz, age 57 years, of Archbold, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 6, 2017, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.  He was born December 1, 1959, at Brownsville TX, the son of Ernesto and Aurora (Villanueva) Alaniz.  He married Norma L. Garza on August 25, 1975.  A resident of the Archbold area since 1979, he worked at Dana Corp. in Antwerp for 12 years and then at Scranton Machine Shop in Montpelier for 12 years and then at Arcelormittal in Pioneer for one year.  He enjoyed fishing, repairing and fixing cars.  He attended the Good Shephard Mennonite Church near Archbold.

He is survived by his wife, Norma L. Garza; three children, Veronica (Pauncho) Perez of Fort Wayne, IN, Benito Alaniz and Ernesto Alaniz both of Archbold; 5 grandchildren; two brothers and one sister all living in Texas; and a step-brother of Tena, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers.

Services will be private.  Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
