Dale Edward Short was born in his family's home outside of Archbold, Ohio on August 5, 1926, to Clarence and Mary (Schmucker) Short.  He was 90 years old when he died at St. Vincent- Mercy Hospital, Toledo, on Thursday evening, January 19.

Dale spent much of his life working at Lugbill Bros. Livestock Auction. In addition to work, Dale enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Any time you visited Dale, you could count on having something to eat and hearing at least one funny story!  In addition to his family, he was a dedicated fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians. He especially liked visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren as he watched his family grow and thrive.

Dale loved having his children and their families call and visit. Surviving Dale is Patty, his wife of 66 years; three sons: Bill (Pat), Tim (Ann), Artie (Kathy); eight grandchildren: Amanda (Mickey) Doyle, Jesse (Jessica) Short, Whitney Short, John (Cathy) Short, Mike Short, Sarah Short, Eric (Crystal) Hildreth, and Jay Short; and seven great grandchildren: Liam, Oscar, Isla, Olivia, Ted, Sydney and Nola.
