Constance D. "Connie" Short, age 77 years, of Archbold, passed away, Friday afternoon September 23, 2022, at McLaren St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee.  She was born on July 8, 1945 to Harold and Ruth (Grieser) Short.  Due to an accident at a young age Connie became handicapped but she never let that stop her from doing anything even batting a ball with nieces and nephews.  She enjoyed embroidery work, arts and crafts, reading poems or scriptures to residents who didn't have visitors, and had a card shop in her room at Fairlawn.  All of her life she loved dogs, especially Gracie.  She was a charter member of Zion Mennonite Church in Archbold.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley (Larry) Stuckey of Archbold; sister-in-law, Joy Short of Fayette; six nieces and nephews, Linda Gerber, Jerry (Linda) Short, Sharon Gerber, Judy (Garry) Snyder, Julie Schumacher and Jon (Judi) Short; and 9 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Harold Jr. Short and Colenzo Short; brothers-in-law, Loyal Gerber and Donald Nofziger; nephews, Terry and Jeff Short; and a nephew-in-law Mark Schumacher.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Zion Mennonite Church at 4 PM with Pastor Sue Short officiating.  Friends may call from 1-4 PM at the church on Wednesday.  Private family burial will be in the Pettisville Cemetery Wednesday morning.  Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.  The family suggests that memorials be given to Zion Mennonite Church or the donor's favorite charity.
