Charles C. Fann Sr., age 88 years, of Defiance and formerly of Pharr, TX, passed away Monday Afternoon, July 3, 2017, at The Laurels of Defiance.  He was born February 23, 1929, at Nashville, TN, the son of Edgbert and Gertie (Willard) Fann. He married Betty Okert on June 6, 1947 and she preceded him in death on April 15, 2004, he then married Mildred Fellers Miller on December 13, 2007 and she preceded him in death on August 20, 2013.  A resident of Pharr, TX, many years, before moving to Defiance, he worked as a truck broker, owned Roosevelt Auto Parts and operated two gas stations all at Dundee.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He enjoyed working on automobiles.

He is survived by five children, Barbara (Jeff) Schroeder of Grover Hill, Deborah (Rolland) Barrett of Defiance, Charles (Terry) Fann Jr. of Weslaco, TX, Anita (Blain) Young of Deer Park, TX, and Christopher (Suanna) Fann of Weslaco, TX; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Elizabeth Fann of Nashville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 grandchildren; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters.

There will be no visitation and a private service will be held at a later date.  Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
