Brian Dunning Smitley, age 55 years, of Wauseon, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015, at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. He was born January 16, 1959 at Wauseon, the son of Gordon and Patricia (Longley) Smitley. A lifelong resident of the Wauseon area, he worked in sales in the automotive industry. He enjoyed racing, the outdoors and was a Michigan Fan. He is survived by two children, Zack (Amberly) Smitley and Hannah Smitley; two grandsons, Quinn and Dean; a brother, Chris (Cheryl) Smitley; and a sister, Sue Smitley (Keith Sparrow). He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, January 17, from 12-3 PM at the VFW in Wauseon. The family suggests that memorials be given to the American Lung Association.
