Betty J. Grieser, age 78 years, of Archbold, passed away suddenly early Tuesday morning, July 24, 2012, in her home. She was born December 29, 1933, at West Unity, the daughter of Charley and Emma (Sigg) Coy. She married Herbert C. Grieser on August 2, 1953, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2008. A resident of the Archbold area many years, she was a homemaker and started her bookkeeping career at the Farmers & Merchants State Bank, and then worked for her husband's businesses, Herb Grieser Trucking, and Promised Land Insurance. She was a marriage counselor and was in lay ministry at CCNO and Transport for Christ. She attended the Archbold Evangelical Church and was a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary. She is survived by three children, Judy (Curtis) Nofziger, Jerry (Jill) Grieser, and Janna (Sam D.) Short, all of Archbold; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and another expected in October; and one brother, Harlan (Donnabelle) Coy of Stryker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Raymond Coy and Albert Clinton Coy. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at the Archbold Evangelical Church with Pastor Jesse Kahler officiating. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fairlawn Chapel from 3-8 PM on Friday. The family suggests that memorials be given to Gideons International.
