Aurora Fuentes Acevedo, age 79 years, of Defiance, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 18, 2014, at the Toledo Hospital. She was born April 16, 1934 at Brownsville, TX, the daughter of Rev. Clemente and Eucaria (Herrera) Fuentes. A resident of the Defiance/Archbold/Wauseon area many years, she worked at Globe-Weis Systems for 20 years, and Dana Corporation for 28 years. She was a faithful church attender and enjoyed cooking. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God. She is survived by two sons, Ruben (Josefina) Acevedo Jr., and Esequiel Acevedo; three daughters, Rosalinda Ayala, Rebecca (Lupe) Cantu, and Marissa Flores; son/grandson, Paul (Tara) Cordova Jr.; 24 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers,Clemente (Ruth Ann) Fuentes Jr, Eli (Sylvia) Fuentes, and Abraham (Elizabeth) Fuentes; sisters, Sara Smith, Rebecca (Benjamin) Esquibel, and Esther (Pedro) Ramos. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Abel Acevedo; daughter, Raquel Hernandez; 2 grandsons; 2 great-granddaughters; brother, Jose Fuentes; sister, Maria Moreno. Services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at the Templo Cristiano Assembly of God in Archbold with Pastor Antonio Rosales officiating. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery. Friends may call at Short Funeral Home in Archbold from 4-8 PM on Friday with a service at 7 PM with Rev. Pedro Ramos officiating.
