Alta Dunning, age 94 years, of Archbold, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 12, 2016, at Genesis Healthcare in Bryan.  She was born January 30, 1922, at Greenup, Kentucky, the daughter of Washington and Daisy (Manning) Miller, she married Gilbert Dunning and he preceded her in death.  She was a homemaker, and loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.   She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Defiance.

She is survived by eight children, Teena Stack of Montpelier, Tex Dunning of Findlay, Judy (Dean) Bloir of Angola, IN, Ted Dunning of Arizona, Cathy (Bob) Fowler of Edon, Jim Dunning of Archbold, Patty (Thom) Diehl of Edon, and Ramona Dunning of Arizona; two daughters-in-law, Sharon Miller of California and Denise Dunning of Grover Hill; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; loved ones in the family, Dennis Ritter, Brigitte Dunning and too many others to mention.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four children, Joe Miller, Rita Dunning, Junior Dunning, and Mike Dunning.

Services will be held on Monday at 10 AM at Short Funeral Home in Archbold with Rev. Brian Bressler officiating.  Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery.  Friends may call in the funeral home from 2-7 PM on Sunday.
