Francis J. Coressel
Archbold

Francis J. Coressel, age 83 years, of Archbold, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 18, 2011, in his home. He was born July 27, 1928 at St. Michaelís Ridge the son of Leonard H. and Mary E. (Brenner) and married Marlene Stauffer on June 22, 1957. A resident of the Archbold area for 52 years, he worked at ITT Higbie for over 30 years, most recently as plant engineer. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict, and was a member of St. Peterís Catholic Church in Archbold. He was active in the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene; seven children, Cindy Eddy of Archbold, Sandy (Chuck) Wettle of Archbold, Stephanie (Dan) Hawley of Cary, NC, Jeff (Lori) Coressel of Archbold, Kevin (Anne) Coressel of Centerville, OH, Shari Coressel of Columbus, OH and Mark Coressel of Durham, NC; eight grandchildren, Kristi Eddy, Corey and Tyler Hawley, Britanny, Taylor, Alexa and Lauren Coressel, and Samantha Coressel; two great-grandchildren, Makiah and Devon Morris; two brothers and one sister, Janet (Leo) Gustwiler of Wauseon, Michael Coressel of Archbold, and G. Dennis (Martha) Coressel of St. Michaelís Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters, Cecilia (Virgil) Gustwiller of Napoleon, Leonard (Jane) Coressel of Sherwood, and Catherine (Robert) Schlegel of St. Michaelís Ridge.

Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30am at St. Peterís Catholic Church with Father Gary Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peterís Catholic Cemetery with military rights by the Archbold American Legion. Friends may call at St. Peterís from 12 to 8 pm on Friday with Scripture Service at 7:30. Memorials suggested to Community Health Professionals Hospice and St. Peterís Catholic Church, both of Archbold.
